chuuchuu collects limited pseudonymous usage data to help us understand how the Service is used and to improve it. We do not collect your name, email address, or any information that directly identifies you.

2. Analytics Data (Mixpanel)

We use Mixpanel, a product analytics service, to collect usage data about how you interact with the Service. This includes:

• Interaction events: actions you take within the app, such as buttons tapped, searches performed, and journeys viewed (including origin and destination station names and planned departure and arrival times).
• Device and session data: device model, operating system version, app version, screen dimensions, mobile carrier, connection type (WiFi or cellular), and approximate region (derived from your IP address).
• A pseudonymous device identifier: a randomly generated ID that is consistent across your sessions but is not linked to your name or any account.
• Your IP address is used temporarily by Mixpanel solely to derive your approximate region and country, and is then discarded. It is not stored.
• All analytics data is stored on Mixpanel's EU infrastructure (api-eu.mixpanel.com) and is retained for 2 years.

The legal basis for collecting analytics data depends on the platform you use:

Website: We collect analytics data only after you have given your consent via our cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences.

iOS app: We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the Service is used in order to improve it. We have assessed that this interest is not overridden by your privacy rights, given that: the data is pseudonymous and not used for advertising or profiling; it is stored exclusively in the EU; it is retained for no longer than 2 years; and it is never sold or shared with third parties.

4. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

chuuchuu may store certain settings and preferences in your device's local storage to enhance your experience. This includes:

• Remembering Locations: chuuchuu may store your previously selected or viewed locations so you can easily access them when you return to the app.
• Options and Settings: chuuchuu may store your preferred options, such as language, display settings, and other app preferences, to maintain your personalised experience between sessions.

This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third-party services.

5. Crash Reporting

If you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with Apple, crash reports from the iOS app may be shared with us via App Store Connect and TestFlight. This data is used solely to identify and fix technical issues. It is governed by Apple's privacy policy and your device's diagnostics sharing settings.

6. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, share, or disclose your data to any third parties for advertising, marketing, or commercial purposes. Mixpanel acts solely as a data processor under our instruction. No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.

We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to protect the data we process. Analytics data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on EU infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

chuuchuu is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the GDPR in relation to the pseudonymous analytics data we process, including the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Because analytics data is tied to a pseudonymous device identifier rather than your name or email, we may need additional information to locate your data.
